The Namibian Businesswomen Networking Breakfast, held on November 15, 2024, at the Hilton Hotel, was a spectacular success. With a full house of 106 attendees, this event, proudly sponsored by Namdeb, became a beacon of inspiration and connection for Namibian women in business.
The highlight of the morning was a transformational keynote by Sam Shivute, CEO (Commissioner) of the Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA). His talk artfully intertwined the metaphor of diamonds with the journey of personal and professional growth—a fitting tribute to Namdeb, a diamond mining company dedicated to transformation and excellence.
Drawing from Maxwell’s leadership principles and his ACT philosophy (Accountability, Commitment, and Transformation), Sam Shivute encouraged attendees to embrace the pressure and challenges of life, likening them to the immense stress that transforms carbon into diamonds deep within the earth. He reminded us that, just as raw diamonds require careful polishing to shine, we too must refine and transform ourselves to reach our full potential.
A particularly moving moment was his guided exercise, where participants visualized their future selves, grounding their goals with a breathing technique that made their aspirations feel tangibly within reach.
