This past Friday, 6th of September, we had the privilege of hosting an unforgettable networking breakfast at the serene Droombos, sponsored by Pupkewitz Motors. It was a sold-out event, with 107 influential women and men in attendance, eager to engage, network, and learn from one of Namibia’s most inspiring business leaders—Nangula Kauluma.

As the Programme Director of the Namibian Businesswoman Association, I am always thrilled when we have the opportunity to bring together such a diverse and accomplished group of professionals. The atmosphere was electric from the moment the first guest arrived, with a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation. Droombos offered the perfect backdrop for deep conversations, fresh perspectives, and meaningful connections.

The theme of the morning, The Art of Pivoting: Adapting Yourself through Change & Setbacks while Remaining True to Growth & Your Purpose, resonated with every attendee. Nangula’s presentation was nothing short of extraordinary. She captivated the room, drawing from her own experiences in navigating career shifts, personal challenges, and industry evolution. What stood out most was her authenticity—her ability to speak candidly about the difficulties she has faced, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to her purpose and vision.

Nangula reminded us that pivoting is not merely about changing direction but about consciously responding to challenges with grace, resilience, and intention. Her words struck a chord as she explained how staying true to one’s core values during times of uncertainty is essential to long-term success. She left us all reflecting on how we can adapt, evolve, and thrive—without losing sight of who we are and where we’re headed.

Throughout the morning, attendees actively participated in discussions, drawing inspiration from Nangula’s insights and each other’s experiences. I had the opportunity to speak with many guests, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. One guest shared that the event “provided clarity on how to navigate career changes while remaining focused on growth,” while another noted the value of hearing “real, actionable advice from someone who has walked the walk.”

As host and organiser, it was immensely gratifying to see the impact of the event. Networking breakfasts like this serve as a vital platform for fostering collaboration, growth, and support within the business community. I am deeply grateful to Pupkewitz Motors for their generous sponsorship, and to all those who attended, making this event one of the highlights of our annual calendar.

A special thank you goes out to Nangula Kauluma for sharing her story with us in such a powerful way. Her wisdom and openness were a gift to everyone present. I left the event, as I hope many others did, feeling invigorated, empowered, and ready to embrace whatever pivots may come our way.

The success of this event is a reminder of the importance of community and shared learning in times of change. As we continue to host events that bring people together, I look forward to seeing how the lessons shared will ripple through our personal and professional lives.

Until the next networking breakfast, let us all continue to adapt, grow, and stay true to our purpose.

Warm regards,

Desere Lundon-Muller
